The primary responsibility of this department is to ensure safe, legal and efficient operation of IndiGo aircraft. This includes training of cockpit crew to ensure that they meet all licensing and regulatory requirements and can execute high-quality operation in a safe, efficient, and customer-friendly manner. Specially trained operational staff, within the department, play a key role in the recruitment of new flight deck crew. The support staff is involved in effective surveying of all new routes and making available all navigation, performance, and other necessary operational data to flight crew, to ensure safe air and ground operations. Investigating, monitoring, and disseminating information on all accidents, incidents and other occurrences involving IndiGo aircraft also come within the scope of this function.

Junior First Officer
Criteria
- Minimum Age: 18 years & Maximum Age: 40 years.
License Required
- Indian National with DGCA issued CPL with A320 endorsement.
- Pilots must have current COP/RTR, FRTO, Class 1 Medical.
- Multi Engine endorsement on license (Min. 25 Hours of Multi Engine, out of which minimum 15 Hours should be on actual aircraft and maximum 10 Hours on SIM).
- No Accident & incident free record at the time of application.
First Officer
Criteria
- Maximum Age: 45 years.
License Required
- Indian National with DGCA issued valid CPL with A320 endorsement
- Pilots must have current FRTO, RTR, Class 1 Medical and valid ratings.
- No Accident & incident free record at the time of application.
Flying Experience
- Line released as First Officer on A320 Family with minimum 200 Hours post line release.
Senior First Officer
Criteria
- Maximum Age: 55 years.
License Required
- Pilots must have current DGCA ATPL, FRTO, RTR, Class 1 Medical and valid ratings.
- No Accident & incident free record at the time of application.
Flying Experience
- Line released as First Officer on A320 Family with minimum 200 Hours post line release.
Captain & Above
Criteria
- Maximum Age: 62 years.
License Required
- Indian national with valid DGCA issued ATPL with A320 Pilot-In-Command (PIC) endorsement.
- Pilots must have valid FRTO, RTR, Class 1 Medical & ratings.
- No Accident & incident free record at the time of application.
Flying Experience
- Total Flying Hours: 3000 Hours and minimum 100 Hours as PIC post line release on A320 Family.
- A320 Family Trainers should hold valid DGCA approved Trainer status.
Senior First Officer
Criteria
- Maximum Age: 52 years
License Required
- Indian national having valid DGCA issued ATPL and prior experience in military / commercial flying.
- Pilots should have valid FRTO, RTR and Multi Engine endorsement on license (Min. 25 Hours of Multi Engine, out of which minimum 15 Hours on actual aircraft and maximum 10 Hours on SIM).
- No Accident & incident free record at the time of application.
Flying Experience
- Minimum 500 Hours on aircraft with MTOW > 5700 Kgs.
Captain & Above
Criteria
- Maximum Age: 55 years.
License Required
- Indian national with valid DGCA issued ATPL along with FRTO, RTR & Class 1 Medical.
- Multi Engine endorsement on license (Min. 25 Hours of Multi Engine, out of which minimum 15 Hours on actual aircraft and maximum 10 Hours on SIM).
- No Accident & incident free record at the time of application.
Flying Experience
- Total 3000 Hours of flight time with
500 PIC Hours on Jet aircrafts operated by Scheduled Operator with MTOW > 5700 kg
Or
1000 PIC Hrs on Turbo-props operated by Scheduled Operator with MTOW > 5700 kg.
Captain
Criteria
- Maximum Age: 62 years
License Required
- Pilot -in - Command on A320 with Minimum Total Time of 4000 hours.
- Expat Pilots must have current ATPL, FRTO, RTR, Class 1 Medical and valid ratings.
- No Accident & incident free record at the time of application.
- ICAO English language Proficiency 4 & above.
Flying Experience
- Total Flight Time of 4000 Hours with
Minimum 2000 Hours of PIC experience on multi-engine aircraft and
Minimum PIC time of 500hrs on A320 family Aircraft.
ATR 72-600 Fleet
Trainee Pilot
Criteria –
- Maximum Age: 37yrs, 40 years (for pilots > 1000 hours flying time)
License Required
- Indian National with current DGCA issued CPL with ATR 72 endorsement.
- Must have current COP/RTR, FRTO, Class 1 Medical.
- No accident & incident-free record at the time of application.
First Officer

- Maximum Age: 45 years.
License Required
- Indian National with DGCA issued CPL, FRTO, RTR & Class 1 Medical.
- No accident & incident-free record at the time of application.

- Should be line released as First Officer on ATR 72 family
Senior First Officer
Criteria
- Maximum Age: 55 years.
License Required
- Indian National with current DGCA ATPL, FRTO, RTR & Class 1 Medical.

Captain & Above

Flying Experience
- Minimum Total Flight Time: 2000 hours; Released on ATR as Captain on ATR family aircraft. Applicants for the role of ATR 72-600 Trainer should hold DGCA approved trainer status.
