Tax Application for Maldives

The following taxes are applicable for all customers travelling from Velana International Airport, Malé (MLE) - Maldives.

Airport Development Fee (H9):

Other Nationals - USD 30

Tax refund for Maldives Nationals

If you are a Maldivian passport holder and you have paid the Airport Development Fee (H9) and Maldives Airport Fees (BQ) applicable to Other Nationals in full when you purchased your air ticket you can apply for a refund of the excess H9 and BQ (as applicable) paid by you as a Maldivian National, subject to the terms and conditions detailed below.

Terms & conditions

  • To request for the tax refund

    If you are an agent or a passenger, email us on customer.experience@goindigo.in with the ticket detail/s along with the passport copy of the passenger/s to raise a claim for refund (“Claim”).

    We will confirm receipt of the Claim and once the Claim is verified, the refund will be processed within 10 (ten) business days. (“Refund Date”)

  • The refund will be issued in the original payment source account used at the time of purchase of the ticket.
  • If the ticket was purchased through a travel agent, the excess H9 & BQ tax shall be refunded to the respective travel agent with an intimation regarding the same to the passenger.
  • The refund amount will include only the Claim amount for excess H9 and BQ collected from the Maldivian Nationals. IndiGo shall not be liable to pay any further compensation, additional fees, or interest under this refund process by IndiGo.
  • Any disputes regarding the refund should be communicated to IndiGo within 30 days of Refund Date.
  • Refund claim must be submitted along with the following documents.
    • Ticket copy / PNR
    • Clear passport copy
  • All disputes/issues in relation to a Claim will be governed by and construed in accordance with the applicable laws in India and are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts at New Delhi.
