What is Deoghar famous for?
Deoghar is one of the famous religious hubs in the state of Jharkhand. The holy city is thronged with historic temples and mountains.
One of the noted religious temples in this holy city is the Baba Baidyanath’s Temple. Baba Baidyanath is one of the most divine forms of Lord Shiva or Mahakala, who has won over death. There are also certain legends related to the temple. It is said that the temple was enshrined by the Demon King, Ravana.
This temple was built by Raja Puran Mal of the Amber kingdom. Besides, there is also the Shiv Ganga, the sacred pool that is near the Baba Baidyanath temple. Here the devotees bathe off their sins and consider themselves baptised or purified.
